Crooked Tongues BBQ

Just wanted to give a heads up: Crooked Tongues is hosting their (somewhat) annual BBQ. Over on Rivington St. in Shoreditch.

Should be a good time and great for people watching, networking and general sneaker-head debauchery. DJs, Beer and Music.

Send an email with your full name and address to guarantee entry for you and a guest (mine came yesterday!): bbq09@crookedtongues.com

Hop on over to www.crookedtongues.com for all the latest info on the sneaker scene in London (upcoming releases, etc.) as well as to get more information about the bbq!

Hackney WickED Art Show

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it, but this should be a great event! According to the festival's website this event has been dubbed "the most vital art event of the summer" by NY Arts Magazine.

Running all weekend at various galleries and studios in "the Hack" this promises to be a great event displaying some of London's up and comers! Pop over to www.hackneywicked.com to check out the schedule and participating venues.

"Fresh" Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream Waffles w/ Butter

Nice new kicks from Pharell's BBC/Ice Cream. Not sure I could wear 'em but they're pretty nice to look at!

Just a heads up...

I know the posts have been coming fast and furious as I'm trying to keep y'all updated on as much as I can about the line, release dates, what I'm doing and everything else going on in the streetwear and ethical clothing worlds. HOWEVER, this is just a warning that for the next few weeks posts will probably be considerably more sporadic and infrequent as a result of a course I am taking at Central St. Martins Art School here in Central London, as well as the fact that my dissertation is due on September 1... and I still have LOTS of work to do on that. Just wanted to give a heads up and will do my best to keep the updates comin'. The shirts are on their way and I'm nearly sold out of the first graphic sooooo... act fast if you want to be a part of the VERY FIRST, VERY LIMITED run print of my first design (this design will NEVER be printed on this colorway again once these are gone)!

I will keep pre-order pricing in place until Sunday night at 11:59pm (GMT), I know I haven't told y'all the pricing scheme yet but the pre-order price on this number will be considerably lower than anything I'm selling in the future so don't sleep and own a future relic of streetwear!!

Further Developments...

I just wanted to let you know that I'm very excited about the first release and the requests for pre-orders already. I have taken down names (and will continue to do so). I am hoping to have the main site up within the next few days which should allow me to receive email at: sam@crockstarlimited.com. This site will only really be a placeholder that redirects to the blog until I am making those scrillions and can afford to have Cheating Keating and Shaner hook up a steezy website.

There will be a special price for all pre-order requests made (either via facebook or email) and I will let you all know that price -- as well as the regular order price -- as soon as I've got my quote and timeline sorted.

Thanks so much for all the support!

Delicious Ice Cream in London

If you haven't been yet, get thee to "Freggo" on Swallow St. off of Regent Square. This place makes South American style ice cream and is right next to an Argentinian restaurant called Gaucho (if you want to go have some delicious food first). Click here for the Time Out London review.

Sick Hat...

Yes... that is indeed a glow-in-the-dark 5-panel. Why would you need a hat that glows? Stupid question.

Hat is forthcoming from Flying Coffin.

BIG DEVELOPMENTS FOR CROCKSTAR

"Preview of the Preview"

After a very successful meeting in Hackney today a number of decisions have been made about the first drop (a VERY limited run tee):

First and perhaps most importantly, I have decided that I will collaborate with Stuart Smith on this first project. Stu is a great guy who runs Lovenskate out of Hackney-- he is real friendly, excited to help me get started and handprints some top quality stuff.

Next-- I have decided that the first run of tees will be printed on EarthPositive tees. As EarthPositive puts (quite eloquently): "The apparel/clothing industry has long been one of the world’s most environmentally and socially damaging industries; 'EarthPositive has a single aim, which is to prove that it is possible to produce (cotton) clothing without any detrimental effects to the Earth's soil or water, its inhabitants, whether they be animals, plants or people, or to its climate.'"
*While ultimately I have other plans for my supply chain, these facts are very much in line with my own mission statement and I have decided that EarthPositive is the best company to go with for the first run. EarthPositive fabrics are Organic, use low-emission organic farming, has carbon neutral status at the production stage. EarthPositive holds certification under the Global Organic Textile Standard as well as by the Fair Wear Foundation for ethical labor practices throughout its supply chain (and, let's be honest... it's hella comfy as well).

With this decision one of the founding Crockstar Limited slogans can be upheld: all the rad, none of the guilt.

Enjoy the teaser for the first drop and holler if you'd like to place an order these will be limited and this particular "pre-release" design will not return once they're gone.

"The New Super Fruit"

For the foodees out there...

Cupuacu (above), from the cocoa family and known for its "creamy, chocolaty taste" is poppin up in ice creams and jams all over the place. Be on the lookout for northern Brazil's Cupuacu as it looks set to take over the fruit of the moment role from açaí and goji berries...

While we're on the subject...

Tron 2.0 Trailer (for Comic Con)

Quite possibly the dopest looking remake I've ever seen... word on the street is that the entire soundtrack will be done by DAFT as well.

WELCOME

The general idea here will be to provide general information about forthcoming Crockstar Limited products, information about the line (and occasional interviews with contributors), as well as links and stories from noteworthy clothing lines, urban artists and other worthy sources. Enjoy and get hype for the drop (fingers crossed for the first release by the end of 2009).
